Nancy
Lippincott is a vocalist and multi-instrumentalist from Godfrey,
Illinois. She began playing guitar and singing in high school during the
60's Folk Revival and has never stopped.
Over the years she's
taught herself to play four more instruments: hammered dulcimer,
mandolin, autoharp and tenor banjo. Though partial to American folk and
Celtic music, her repertoire includes: early country, blues, swing,
gospel, pop songs and original material.
Nancy has performed
extensively throughout the St. Louis, River Bend Area in a variety of venues,
from coffee houses to park concerts and festivals, representing both Irish and
Appalachian musical traditions. She can often be seen performing "roots" music
at "living history" events both in Illinois and Missouri. Nancy has been a
featured performer at the First Night celebration at Lewis and Clark Community
College.
Since
retiring from her career as a School Social Worker in 2004, Nancy has
been able to devote more time to performing and composing music.
Retirement has also allowed her the time to perform regularly at local
nursing homes and assisted living facilities.

In Folk-Us, was released in 2003.
Her most recent CD,
Still Here was
released in September 2011. This is a compilation of her original music with
assistance from some of St. Louis' finest musicians. These CD's are available
online for purchase and can also be found at The Second Reading Book Shop on Broadway in Alton,
Jacoby Arts Center,and other locations in the River Bend.
